Cataract surgery is the most cost-effective treatment for this condition. It's believed that the quality of life is significantly improved after the surgery. Aim: to investigate the effect of cataract surgery on patients' quality of life in Jazan, Saudi Arabia in addition to identifying the influencing factors.Method:This cross-sectional observational study included 225 adult patients who underwent cataract surgery in the ophthalmology clinic of Prince Mohammed Bin Nasser Hospital, Jazan, Saudi Arabia. Data was collected using a designed self-administered questionnaire.Results:Male patients constituted two-thirds of the study population (68.0%). More than one-half of the patients (59.1%) had the surgery done in the two eyes. The majority of patients (80.0%) said that their vision was improved after having the surgery, 79.6% said that they would advise other to undergo surgery, 85.8% said that their daily life was recovered after having the surgery and 84.4% said that their psychological status was improved after the surgery.
