They are effective in case of appropriate treatment; however, misuse might lead to bacterial resistance. The resistance could be noted when the antibiotic loses its ability to control bacterial growth and killing them effectively. The knowledge of general population might affect their usage of antibiotic and in turn affect antibiotic resistance. To overview antibiotic resistance in Saudi Arabia and the knowledge of general population about such problem, an online research process was involved to search for scientific articles related to the current subject through scientific websites and using several keywords. Around 46 articles were obtained and inclusion criteria was set to select articles, and according to the inclusion criteria, only 20 articles were included. Antibiotic resistance is a global problem and it is also a problem that truly exists in Saudi Arabia. It requires cooperation between physicians and population to overcome such problem.
