Instructions for Authors

National Journal of Physiology, Pharmacy and Pharmacology (NJPPP)


1. Submission of Manuscripts

Manuscripts should be submitted online via the submission system: NJPPP Submission Portal.

Before submission, all authors must complete and sign the NJPPP Manuscript Submission Form. The corresponding author will act as guarantor for the integrity of the work.


2. About the Journal

NJPPP is a peer-reviewed, open-access, online and print journal, publishing 12 issues per year. The journal is indexed in:

  • Indian Science Abstracts

  • Open J-Gate

  • Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research

  • Ulrich’s International Periodical Directory

  • Index Copernicus

  • Index Scholar

  • ProQuest, PSOAR, NewJour, JournalSeek, Genamics, SafetyLit, CAS, etc.

Aim: NJPPP provides a platform for free exchange of high-quality research in Physiology, Pharmacy, and Pharmacology. Authors may self-archive the final accepted version in any OAI-compliant repository.


3. Publication Charges

  • Standard publication charge: USD 150 (covers DOI assignment, XML conversion, submission system, online publication, typesetting, and professional copyediting).

  • Charges for hard copies are additional.

  • Letters to the editor are published free of charge.

Payment should be made to the publisher’s account after formal acceptance.


4. Editorial and Peer Review Process

  1. Manuscripts must be submitted to one journal at a time. Simultaneous submissions will not be considered.

  2. Initial review by Editors-in-Chief, Managing Editor, Section Editors, and Advisory Board identifies manuscripts with insufficient originality, scientific flaws, or low significance for rejection.

  3. Manuscripts passing initial screening undergo peer review by at least two experts.

  4. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewers’ feedback. Authors are informed of acceptance, revisions, or rejection.

  5. Average time from submission to first decision: 30–60 days.

  6. Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, plagiarism check, and PDF galley proofing. Authors must return corrections within three days.

Authors may suggest up to three qualified reviewers, not affiliated with the authors’ institutions; these suggestions are considered for future reviews.


5. Plagiarism Policy

  • All submissions must be original. Proper references must be provided for any extracted material.

  • Manuscripts are screened using iThenticate.

  • Suspected plagiarism triggers a notice to authors. If unresolved, NJPPP may reject the manuscript and bar authors from future submissions, reporting misconduct to the affiliated institution.

  • Use of published articles in media requires explicit permission from the Editor-in-Chief, coinciding with online or print publication.


6. Ethics

  • Research must comply with ethical principles.

  • Human studies require informed consent and Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) approval. Children over 7 years must provide assent.

  • Animal studies must adhere to relevant national/international guidelines, including humane methods of sacrifice.

7. Authorship Criteria

Authors must contribute substantially to:

  1. Study conception, design, data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation

  2. Drafting and revising the manuscript

  3. Final approval of the published version

Gift or ghost authorship is not permitted. Each author’s contribution must be described in the “Authors’ Contributions” section.


8. Manuscript Preparation and Format

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12

  • Spacing: Double-spaced, including references

  • Page numbers: All pages numbered, starting from title page

  • Line numbers: Continuous throughout

  • Language: English only

  1. Title Page: Title, authors, affiliations, corresponding author

  2. Abstract: Structured (Background, Aim, Methods, Results, Conclusion), ≤350 words

  3. Keywords: 3–5

  4. Introduction

  5. Materials and Methods

  6. Results

  7. Discussion

  8. Conclusion

  9. Acknowledgments

  10. Funding

  11. Authors’ Contributions

  12. Conflict of Interest

8.3 Short Communication Structure

  • Similar to research articles; Results and Discussion should be combined.


8.4 Review Article Structure

  • Abstract: Single paragraph, ≤350 words

  • Structured headings/subheadings

  • Other sections: Introduction, Conclusion, Acknowledgments, Funding, Authors’ Contributions, Conflict of Interest, Data Availability, References, Tables/Figures


8.5 Case Report Structure

  1. Title Page

  2. Abstract: Structured (Background, Case Description, Conclusion), ≤350 words

  3. Keywords: 3–5

  4. Introduction

  5. Case Details

  6. Discussion

  7. Conclusion

9. References

  • Cite in-text as: Author (Year) or Author et al. (Year).

  • Multiple works by same author: use letters (e.g., 1995a, 1995b).

  • List references alphabetically by author surname at the end.
